purpose

It’s strange living as a first gen in the Experiential Age.

Our brain is fed a steady diet of images about relationships, body image, career, health, success, achievements, education, caretaking, knowledge, ambition, comparison, living circumstances, best life practices, and on and on.

So many images vying to tell us our purpose.

Our spirit, body, and mind can easily be on total overload with this non-stop flow of information.

And we’re constantly faced with the questions —
• What is our purpose in life?
• How do we get there?

More than once, it’s given me room for pause.

And the reality, for me, is it comes down to just a few things.

I want to love God with all my heart, soul, strength, and mind; and my neighbor as myself. I lean my spirit in to act justly to all people, love mercy completely and fully, and walk humbly with God at every step.

And in all this may Christ be magnified.

This is my purpose.

Do I do it perfectly? Of course not, lol. But I will try, every day. And when I fail, I try to remember to give myself a little bit of the same grace that I so freely give to others.

Hoping the same for you today my friend.

So he answered and said, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,” and “your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27

He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
