scattered

COVID-19 is scattering the Church. But don’t be afraid.

In the Book of Acts, God’s people were divided, spread out, and scattered. The people were super traumatized, but God had purpose in it.

Even when things looked dire and persecution was on overdrive, God was at work. He used these tough times to grow the Church.

I firmly believe we’re living in a time when the exact same thing is happening.

In the "Before Time," pre-COVID-19, the Church was pretty comfortable. Going to worship, sitting next to people who thought the same way, nice and tucked in.

Now, it’s everyone to their own tent. Separation, isolation. And what we’ve maybe thought was bad, is actually being used to spread the gospel of Christ.

THE CHURCH HAS LITERALLY GONE OUT INTO THE VIRTUAL WORLD.

Regular, ordinary people are having their hearts stirred, their spirits willing. Just like in Exodus 35:21, “everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing.” People are leaning in and speaking up. Coming alongside strangers and sharing their hope. Meeting people they would never have met and never spoken to, but for COVID-19. Think about that. It’s just like in Acts, all over again.

We have the never-before opportunity to reach people from all over the world on social platforms. Use this. If your heart is feeling stirred, that’s God, saying “lean in, speak up, share your hope.” Use what you have in your hand. What the enemy means for evil, God has redeemed for good. God is working. He is with us.

Keep your eyes wide open right now, God is growing His Church.
