dialogue

It’s easy to know we shouldn’t talk bad about other people. But what about when we tear ourselves down?

When we discourage, discount, demean, and dismiss our own worth or ability...even if we’re ‘only’ talking inside our head, we still hear our internal voice. And sometimes it can be pretty loud.

How do we feel then?
Is our internal dialogue good for building up?
Do we feel like we’re giving grace to ourselves?

It’s easy to look at Ephesians 4:29 as wisdom for how we should act toward other people, but I think we can count ourselves in “those who hear.”

Encouraging you today friend, to watch the things you tell yourself. Stick to thoughts that are good for building up, and may your internal talk bring grace, even to your own ear.

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29
