ego, teamwork, and the power of humility

There’s something beautiful about working with someone who truly considers others ahead of themselves. They’re genuinely concerned about the condition of other people and it shows in the way they think and speak and act. It’s a spirit that lifts other people up, rather than tearing them down. This person is a joy to be around because they have hope.

Hope in today and hope for tomorrow.

It doesn’t mean they don’t have real problems themselves. They may be struggling to make ends meet, struggling with personal problems in their own lives, or struggling with trauma day in and day out.

People that consider others ahead of themselves make a conscious decision to live in humility.

They recognize the similarities in our lives and they believe that we all need each other. They recognize how quickly things can change in any of our lives. This single decision has the strength to change lives…their own life and everyone that comes into contact with them.

This choice has power.

If you’re blessed to work with one of these people, be grateful. See and feel the difference when you rub shoulders with someone who prefers ego to teamwork. It’s an eye opener.

If you’re a little more on the ego side, just making a few simple changes could tip the scales to a different reality. And before you know it, you might be someone who can make someone else’s life beautiful.
