Do my words build up for the benefit of others’ needs, including my own?
You hear EVERY word you speak. May your own words edify your soul and spirit and nurture the beautiful person God has designed you to become.
ASK yourself…
Think about the KINDS of thoughts you regularly have. This is just between you and God. If you’re honest with yourself, are you satisfied with the quality of life that’s being created from those thoughts?
Honestly ask yourself…do I truly value living in a peaceful way with people? Do your actions regularly show it?
Journal what your mind is focused on for a few days to gain clarity.
Can you make an active effort to “put on” these behaviors this week?
Write compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, and love on an index card. Give yourself a tally mark each time you ‘catch’ yourself trying out these habits this week. New habits take time, so give yourself grace.
Look carefully at the people who SEEM to be causing the most unrest inside your spirit. Meditate on the fact that they, too, are made in the image of God’s love. Ask God to open your eyes to see the image of His love within them.
Lord, help me to see Your image of love in other people

It’s a decision for you, for me, for all of us. Giving thanks is a habit with such incredibly far-reaching consequences; I hope you’ll try it. I believe in you.
Be well, sweet friend.
