a mouse in my house

Fake animals make me smile.

Every time I see this little mouse in my cabinet, I laugh a little at myself. It’s good for my soul.

There’s so many serious, heavy, burdensome things in life — deliberately choosing things that make me smile has a subtle impact on my psyche.

In a good way.

When I was younger, my mom used to say I took myself too seriously. And it made me so angry at her for such a long time.

But you know what, she was right. I genuinely hate to admit that. And I wish she was here so I could acknowledge it to her face to face.

I think she would be proud of me for having that mouse in my cabinet.

I’ve come a long way Mom.

If you also struggle with taking yourself too seriously, I hope you’ll drop your email to get my FREE 5 day Bible study: Creating Calm with Praise + Thanksgiving — 5 Days to Reset
