eyes cast down

My eyes cast down, the ground I see
For 18 years, was home to me
That day the same, as all before
Until He offered so much more

His voice called out to speak to me
He reached His hands and set me free
A simple thing when He saw my pain
His mercy, love, then none remained

My strain relaxed, my bones released
My face turned up, and I saw His peace
A sight my heart had never seen
Glory, glory, glory, all to my King

When anger roared, within the walls
Stay in your lane, and follow the law
Your pain means less than keeping our rules
That’s all we really know to do

Then Peace spoke up, and shined so bright
I’m here for you, so don’t lose sight
My love for you is seven days
The Sabbath too, love still remains

The crowd rejoiced, set free at last
His love poured out, their hearts held fast
He stepped in their lives to intervene
His glory they themselves had seen

Could this be true? New life awaits!
He healed me and made me straight
My vision no longer on the floor
And joy resides in this open door

Luke 13:10-17
