the story isn’t finished.

Head held high, chin up
All is right with me
So full, so correct
It’s all that I can see

Time moves slow
And then speeds up
Good here and there and there
Trying, straining, working hard
And then I get the stare

A head turned down
An eyebrow up
A look to disapprove
Beyond the eyes the judgment soars
It’s certain she’s not you

And yet a tiny thread is there
It’s invisible to view
A failing here
Disappointment there
A truth we can’t control

That though we try, our hands are tied
Is there purpose in it all?

If only we could see the One
Who’s really at the helm
Then, at once, we’d know
The story isn’t finished
It’s not ours to control

It’s then that we can clearly see
The Image we all behold
And oh, the joy when we release
The illusion of it all

To know that God is in us
In each and every one
A welcome smile reflecting ours
Love dancing in their eyes

And suddenly we realize
Grace isn’t ours to hold
But pour it out completely
To those and those and those

The story isn’t finished
And it’s Love to make it known
