It’s so easy to be consumed. On the urgent, on the loud, on what looks like a need. To have our thoughts spread out over so many different little fires. We’re stressed out, overwhelmed, breathing hard, just trying to stay in the game.

People use fear to manipulate.

Do this. Don’t do that.

Buy this. Don’t buy that.

Believe this. Don’t believe that.

Include them. Don’t include them.

A baby smiled at me the other day in the grocery store.

When anger rules and hatred festers

When unforgiveness drains

The Light is hidden, tucked inside

And not allowed to reign

In the ambulance ride

With my son in the back

Victim to his own behavior

In the emergency room

As the doctor tells him

That he can ask me to step out

It was probably the best gift I ever gave my husband. I’m not a great gift giver.

When I was younger, my mom used to say I took myself too seriously. And it made me so angry at her for such a long time.

We praise You Lord, that in Your compassion, you share in our suffering. You are completely aware of every detail of our lives and you care about every single one of us.

COVID-19 is scattering the Church. But don’t be afraid.
